Removals UK to Spain

Door-to-door removals from the UK to Spain — by road, sole-use or shared. Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Mallorca, Tenerife, Murcia.

Spain is the most popular UK→EU expat destination by a wide margin. Most of our UK→Spain volume is split between Costa del Sol (Marbella, Estepona, Mijas, Fuengirola, Málaga), Costa Blanca (Alicante, Torrevieja, Benidorm), and Mallorca, with growing volume to Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia.

Post-Brexit, every move now requires export and import customs declarations. Spain’s "cambio de residencia" exemption can clear personal household goods duty-free — but only with the right paperwork submitted in the right order. We handle it.

Freight modes & transit times

Sole-use road freight
7–12 days door-to-door

Dedicated truck collects and delivers on your dates — best for firm timelines and full house moves.

Shared / groupage road
4–8 weeks door-to-door

Your goods travel with other UK→Spain loads on the same trailer. Cheaper, slower, fine for non-urgent moves.

Sea container (long-distance / Canaries)
4–6 weeks

For moves to the Canary Islands or where road access isn’t practical, 20ft / 40ft sea containers are the standard.

Air freight
2–4 days

Time-critical or small-volume moves — premium price, premium speed.

Customs & paperwork

Export from the UK requires an EAD (Export Accompanying Document) and EORI number. We file these on your behalf as part of the service.

Import to Spain on personal household goods uses the "cambio de residencia" exemption (Transfer of Residence equivalent), which exempts duty and IVA on goods you’ve owned and used for at least 6 months. Required documents typically include: passport, NIE, padrón (proof of Spanish address), Spanish bank account, inventory in Spanish, and a "baja" (cancellation of UK residence) where applicable.

Vehicles, alcohol over personal allowance, and tobacco have separate rules — flag these to us during quoting.

Ports of arrival

  • Mainland — direct truck delivery to any address
  • Mallorca — via Barcelona / Valencia ferry
  • Tenerife / Las Palmas — via Cádiz container service
  • Ibiza / Menorca — via Valencia ferry
