European removals from the UK, by road, door to door.
Sole-use trucks across the Channel for firm timelines. Shared / groupage loads for cost-conscious moves. Customs paperwork, Transfer of Residence relief and destination handling — all run by a single coordinator.
Moving to another European country is a logistics project with a customs project bolted onto it. Done well, you don’t notice; done badly, your truck sits at the border while you sleep on an airbed.
We coordinate the whole chain — packing in the UK, export declarations, the right freight mode, destination customs clearance, and inland delivery — with a single point of contact through the move. Post-Brexit, every UK→EU move now needs paperwork on both sides; we handle it.
Freight modes — and which is right
Sole-use road freight (dedicated truck) — your goods are the only load on the trailer. Best for firm timelines and full house moves. Typical transit: 2–14 days door-to-door depending on country.
Shared / groupage road — your goods travel with other UK→EU loads on the same trailer. Cheaper, slower (3–8 weeks), good for non-urgent and partial moves.
Sea container — for islands and long-distance EU destinations where road isn’t practical (e.g. the Canaries, Madeira, Cyprus, Malta). 4–6 weeks port-to-port plus inland delivery.
Air freight — for time-critical or small-volume moves when speed matters more than cost.
Customs, Transfer of Residence (ToR) & paperwork
Every UK→EU move now requires export declarations from the UK and import clearance at destination. We prepare and file these on your behalf.
If you’re relocating permanently, Transfer of Residence relief (called something different in each country) lets you import your used household goods duty-free in most destinations. Eligibility, documentation and timing matter — we walk you through it.
Country-specific paperwork — France’s attestation de changement de résidence, Spain’s cambio de residencia, Portugal’s Transferência de Residência, Italy’s lista valorizzata, Germany’s Erstattungsbescheinigung, Romania’s declarație vamală — handled as part of the service.

Frequently asked
- How much does a European move cost?
- It varies by route, volume and freight mode — there is no useful flat number. We quote per-job, by email or phone, after a 15-minute conversation about volume, destination and timing.
- How long does a European move take?
- Sole-use road: Netherlands / Belgium / Northern France 2–5 days; Spain / Portugal / Italy / Romania 5–14 days. Groupage: 3–8 weeks depending on country and consolidation cycle.
- What is Transfer of Residence (ToR) relief?
- A duty exemption available in most destination countries when you’re relocating permanently and importing personal goods you’ve owned and used for at least 6 months. We help with eligibility checking and the paperwork.
- Do I need to be present at destination customs clearance?
- In most countries, no — destination customs is handled by our partner agent on your behalf, against your prepared documentation and a power of attorney. In a few countries you’ll be asked to sign in person.
- Can you store my goods if my destination home isn’t ready?
- Yes, at origin in the UK or at destination — most destination partners offer 1–6 months of storage as part of the service, then deliver when you’re ready.
